My story is that of an ordinary businessman working in Turkey. I decided to write this life story in 2017. Together with Mr. Nebil Özgentürk, we conducted interviews at various times to piece together the story. The purpose of writing my story — the story of an ordinary businessman in Turkey — is simply to share the experiences of a 78-year life and a 60-year journey within my inner world, to inform my children and grandchildren, and to help them benefit from it if they wish. It serves no other purpose.
I believe in my country and my people; therefore, I am confident that good days will come. That is why I am happy for the future. For this reason, I had the phrase “This too shall pass, YA HU!” written on the door of my home and office. I offer my endless gratitude to my colleagues who have accompanied me for many years through good and bad times, in joy and in sorrow.
I can never repay my wife Nihal, who has always stood by me through both good and bad days. Without her, I could never have reached this point. She raised our children, each one a person of great value in their own right. I offer my eternal gratitude to the Almighty God — the creator of all things, who reveals Himself in the harmony and beauty of nature — for granting me such a beautiful life, such an incomparable wife, such wonderful children, and for allowing me to live in such a beautiful country.
